Competitiveness Coalition Slams Liberals for Pushing S.2992 to the Floor

WASHINGTON – Following a report that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) will bring the activist-backed American Innovation and Choice Online Act to the floor for an upcoming vote, the Competitiveness Coalition slammed liberal leaders in Washington for pushing forward dangerous legislation that could wreak havoc on the American economy.

“As our country careens from one disaster to another under the failed leadership of this Congress and While House, Chuck Schumer is willing to do anything to satiate his far-left base, including showing ‘progress’ on this misguided antitrust legislation,” said Chair Scott Brown. “This bill is as detrimental as it is unnecessary, and would throw cold water on future entrepreneurs all while giving a big leg up to the Chinese Communist Party. It is the height of irresponsibility to be considering this legislation, especially with our economy teetering on the brink of an all-out recession.”

Earlier this week Brown called out liberal politicians for using antitrust as a means to shift blame away from the current nationwide crises of inflation, skyrocketing gas and grocery prices and even the baby formula shortage.

Counting 17 small business, consumer, and taxpayer advocate groups, the coalition is focused on preserving American competitiveness and defeating misguided bills such as the American Innovation and Choice Online Act and Open App Markets Act.
