Scott Brown on FTC Shake Up: “At Long Last, Lina Khan’s Reign Of Terror Comes To An End”

A new day is dawning at the FTC with a renewed focus on competition and consumer welfare

WASHINGTON – In response to President-elect Donald Trump announcing a shake-up at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Competitiveness Coalition Chair Scott Brown issued the following statement:

“After nearly three and a half long years, there is new hope on the horizon for American innovators, both now and into the future. Under Lina Khan, this once non-political agency has morphed into an aggressive and lawless weapon designed to punish growth and hamper competition. I congratulate Commissioner Ferguson on his appointment as chair, and Mark Meador on his nomination to serve as Commissioner, and urge them both to restore common sense to the FTC – so consumer welfare, rather than outright hostility to innovation – once again serves as the guiding principle.”

Since 2022, the Competitiveness Coalition has been sounding the alarm on the FTC’s egregious overreach and concerning actions. The Coalition has been especially focused on allegations of Khan’s collusion with European regulators to implement sweeping new policies on American technology companies.
