Brown on Amazon-iRobot: “Elizabeth Warren and Lina Khan didn’t like it. So they did everything to squash that … as a result, those jobs went away.”
WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Competitiveness Coalition Chair Scott Brown joined Fox News Radio’s The Brian Kilmeade Show, guest hosted by former Congressman Jason Chaffetz. The conversation touched on the state of the 2024 election and the Coalition’s efforts to rein in the out-of-bounds Biden Federal Trade Commission (FTC), led by Chair Lina Khan.
“I wrote that Biden and Elizabeth Warren joined forces with [FTC Chair] Lina Khan and basically threw away 350 great paying jobs working with Amazon. So we’re fighting back with some of the stupid overregulation that really not only affects our large employers, but our small innovators that are looking to get a leg up,” said Brown, a former U.S. Senator and Ambassador. “(iRobot was) going to do something with Amazon to modernize their facilities and their opportunities. And as a result of that, they didn’t like it, Elizabeth Warren and Lina Khan didn’t like it. So they did everything to squash that and as a result, those jobs went away. And then they’ll start outsourcing them to other parts of the world.”
The wide-ranging discussion also covered China’s quest to supersede the U.S. as a global superpower and the Coalition’s recent call for the Senate to confirm FTC Commissioner nominees to put a check on Chair Khan.
Since 2022, the Competitiveness Coalition has been sounding the alarm on the FTC’s egregious overreach and concerning actions. To learn more about the Coalition’s work on this front, please visit www.competitivenesscoalition.com.
