Competitiveness Coalition Submits Public Records Request Involving  Lina Khan’s Nebulous Role with Mamdani Administration

WASHINGTON – The Competitiveness Coalition announced today it has filed a public records request under New York City’s Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) to learn more about the full extent of former Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chair Lina Khan’s undefined role and influence in New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s transition and administration. The FOIL request, which seeks to clarify the nature of Khan’s involvement in City Hall and its current policy agenda, arrives as the coalition marks its fourth year. Coalition Chairman Ronna McDaniel issued the below statement:

“Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and the murky and ‘undefined’ influence of Lina Khan in the Mamdani Administration cannot go unchecked.,” said McDaniel, a former four-term chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC). “As Mayor Mamdani pledges sweeping tax hikes and pursues a punitive agenda aimed at the business community, New Yorkers deserve clarity on the extent to which Khan’s Bidenomics policy agenda has infiltrated their government. On our fourth anniversary, the Competitiveness Coalition’s mission to protect American innovation and consumers from misguided policies is more vital than ever.”
