WASHINGTON – Competitiveness Coalition Chair Scott Brown today congratulated Congressman Mike Gallagher (R-WI) after the Speaker officially selected the Wisconsin lawmaker as the first Chairman of the newly-established House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party.
“As one of the most outspoken leaders in Congress on the need for the United States to confront the Chinese Communist Party’s quest for global dominance, Congressman Mike Gallagher – a U.S. Marine who served as a counterintelligence officer for seven years – is an excellent pick to serve as the first chair of this important committee,” said Chair Scott Brown. “Our country must continue to serve as the world leader in free market ideas to counter Beijing’s centralized state capitalist influence, particularly in the field of AI, science, and technology. We look forward to working with the House Select Committee on China in the 118th Congress.”
