Competitiveness Coalition Blasts U.S. House Antitrust Package that Emboldens Biden’s Antitrust Agenda

WASHINGTON – As the U.S. House prepares to consider an antitrust package on the floor later today, Competitiveness Coalition Chair Scott Brown released the following statement:

“Instead of working to stop the Chinese Communist Party from stealing U.S. intellectual property and technologies, some conservatives on Capitol Hill are being hoodwinked into supporting bills that would fund President Biden’s liberal antitrust agenda.

It’s bad enough that Congress just passed a law that would hire an army of up to 87,000 new IRS employees. Funneling more taxpayer dollars to fund the politically motivated FTC and DOJ via their so-called antitrust agenda will further harm consumers and small businesses at a time when Americans already fear a looming recession.

The Biden White House has blessed these bills, and any conservative unhappy with President Biden’s handling of the economy should not allow the long arm of the federal government to further meddle in the private sector. Empowering the partisan FTC will only weaken American competitiveness on an international level.”
