Competitiveness Coalition Applauds Advancement of FSGG Appropriations Bill: “Home Run for Fiscal Sanity”

WASHINGTON – This week, the U.S. House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) passed their appropriations bill for fiscal year 2026, putting it before the full committee. The Competitiveness Coalition applauded this crucial first step taken by subcommittee Chair Dave Joyce (R-OH) and other members of the panel in the below statement:

“This year’s FSGG appropriations bill takes huge steps to return to sane, fiscally responsible governance badly needed in Washington. Major conservative wins include cutting the Federal Trade Commission budget, which became a runaway train in recent years, and prohibiting collusion with foreign governments to hinder American innovation, a dirty trick that had become a hallmark of the FTC under former President Joe Biden and its chair Lina Khan. The Competitiveness Coalition looks forward to this bill becoming law to help Make America Competitive Again.”

For more than three years, the Competitiveness Coalition has been sounding the alarm on the egregious government overreach and concerning actions by U.S. regulators.
