WASHINGTON – In a new op-ed for FOX News, Competitiveness Coalition Chairman Ronna McDaniel warns that the rise of anti-business, socialist policies threatens American innovation, economic growth and the nation’s ability to compete globally. Using Michigan’s U.S. Senate race as a case study, McDaniel argues that policies championed by Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed, including support for former FTC Chair Lina Khan’s regulatory agenda, would undermine American businesses and innovation.
“Among other harmful provisions, the bill establishes a financial threshold above which tech companies would be subject to punitive, European-style regulations. Should the legislation become law, federal regulators will have sweeping authority to single out and penalize American companies for being successful innovators.”
“We must, as Ronald Reagan said, put forward our own bold colors and not pale pastels. We must be clear about how and why free markets provide opportunities… History shows us that innovation leads to more jobs and opportunities.”
