Chair Brown Slams Left’s New “Monopoly Busters” Caucus

Brown: “Now more than ever, the United States needs to foster innovation and economic growth, not hinder it.”

WASHINGTON – Today, Competitiveness Coalition Chair Scott Brown sounded the alarm about a new effort led by leftist members of Congress to start a “Monopoly Busters” caucus, aimed at continuing the destructive agenda of the Biden-Harris antitrust ideologues, led by former FTC chair Lina Khan.

“After a brutal general election and a barrage of press that the left has lost working-class voters, it should come as no surprise that progressives launched a do-nothing group in the DC swamp rather than look inward. This vanity project that’s backed by socialists like AOC and Greg Casar is a trojan horse to advocate for the destructive, anti-American, anti-economic growth, and pro-China policies championed by the Biden-Harris administration and its failed FTC Chair, Lina Khan,” said Brown, a former U.S. Senator and Ambassador. “Now more than ever, the United States needs to foster innovation and economic growth, not hinder it. Attempting to pass laws that would restrict our innovators’ ability to keep up with our competitors and adversaries is a risk to our national security and a gift to the Chinese Communist Party.”

For nearly three years, the Competitiveness Coalition has been sounding the alarm on egregious overreach and concerning actions in antitrust enforcement.
