“If you want to get a feel for what AICOA is, you look at what Europe just passed”
In case you missed it, Competitiveness Coalition Chairman Ronna McDaniel joined the Northern Alliance Radio Network to discuss the dangers of the American Innovation and Choice Online Act (AICOA), warning that the legislation would undermine American innovation, hurt consumers and small businesses and weaken the United States’ ability to compete with China.
“If you want to get a feel for what AICOA is, you look at what Europe just passed in the Digital Markets Act. It is intended to slow down innovation… It would be terrible for business, pick winners and losers, hurt our economy, and ultimately hurt consumers.”
Noting that the legislation has lost support in each Congress it has been introduced, McDaniel noted, “Conservatives need to pay attention to these bills that have great names but do terrible things. This is government overreach that will hurt American businesses, hurt consumers, and make it harder for the United States to lead.”
“My hope is that conservatives – the more they will look at this – they will pull back,” McDaniel concluded.
